🌊 About Atlantic Park Surf
Atlantic Park Surf is a surf lagoon at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, on Atlantic Avenue between 18th and 20th Streets. It's the first Wavegarden Cove in North America and is open year-round.
- Waves: ten session levels: Beginner and Novice whitewater, then Progressive, Intermediate, Advanced Turns, Advanced Barrels, Expert Turns, Expert Barrels, Pro Turns and Pro Slab. Helmets are required for Expert Barrels, and the park provides one.
- Who can surf: public sessions are for ages 8 and up.
- First-timers: Beginner and Novice sessions include group coaching with a 30-minute land lesson, plus a wetsuit and soft-top board.
- Getting there: 365 18th Street, Virginia Beach, VA 23451. The park doesn't run its own parking, so use the paid lots on 17th and 20th Streets or the city garages.
- On site: lockers, changing rooms, heated showers, board and wetsuit rental, and food from Nami Nori and Wiseguy Pizza.
