Learn to Surf in Palm Desert at DSRT Surf 🤙
You don't need an ocean to learn to surf any more. DSRT Surf runs a Learn to Surf experience for complete beginners on the forgiving waves of its Wavegarden Cove lagoon in Palm Desert.
The Learn to Surf Lesson 📋
- 30 minutes of instruction on land, then a 60-minute guided session in the water
- $100 for the general public, $75 for Coachella Valley residents
- Weekday lessons at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
After Your First Lesson 🏖️

Adaptive Surfing ♿
DSRT Surf is fully accessible and runs an adaptive surfing programme. It was chosen to host the 2026 ISA World Para Surfing Championship.
First-Timer Tips 💡
- Arrive early - the land session is part of the lesson.
- Drink plenty of water. The desert heat is real, even when you're in the water.

- Evening lessons at 6 p.m. are cooler in the summer months.
