DSRT Surf Waves & Sessions: Beginner to High Performance 🌊
The Wavegarden Cove at DSRT Surf can run more than 60 wave types and up to 1,000 waves per hour. Here's how the sessions break down, so you know which one to book - and which one to set an alert for.
Beginner 🏖️
- Low, forgiving 1-2 ft waves
- For first-timers, or anyone who has tried surfing and wants to build confidence
- Never surfed before? Start with the Learn to Surf lesson.
Intermediate 🚀
- Chest-to-head-high waves with open faces
- For surfers working on open-face technique and linking turns
High Performance 🌪️
- Overhead waves with critical sections
- For experienced surfers ready to push turns, barrels and airs
The Named Waves 🏄
- Turns to Barrel - a first section for linking turns, finishing in a barrel section
- Air Training - ramp sections with waves every 30 seconds, built for practising aerials
- Twister - a powerful, wide and highly technical barrel designed by Wavegarden for experienced tube riders
Reef vs Bay 🧭
DSRT Surf takes bookings on two calendars - the Reef and the Bay - with up to 35 surfers on each side. Surf Session Finder tracks both, so an alert can catch a spot on either side.
Which Session Should You Book? 💡
- Still working on your pop-up? Beginner.
- Riding green waves and turning down the line? Intermediate.
- Comfortable on overhead waves? High Performance - and keep an eye out for barrel and air sessions.
