First Time at Alaïa Bay? Choose the Right Beginner Session
Alaïa Bay's coached sessions are designed for beginners, with instructors guiding you through every step. Here's how to pick the right starting level.
Which Beginner Level Is Right for You?
- Never surfed before? Start with Rookie (0.7 m). You'll practice pop-ups on gentle whitewater waves with a softboard and instructor supervision.
- Can paddle and pop up but haven't ridden direction yet? Try Rookie Rider (0.8 m). You'll progress from whitewater to pointing the board left or right.
- Ready for green waves? Cruiser (1.0 m) is the step up — you'll ride the wave sideways for the first time. Most popular with intermediate beginners.
