What session level should beginners choose?
First-timers should book Rookie or Rookie Rider. Surfers who can already paddle and pop up may be ready for Cruiser. All three beginner levels require a softboard.
What is Free Surf at Alaïa Bay?
Free Surf is unsupervised surfing for regular Alaïa Bay surfers who are autonomous in the pool. Surfers must be validated for Free Surf by Alaïa Bay before they can book this session type.
Do I need a helmet?
Yes — helmets are required for Expert Barrel and Mega Barrel sessions.
Can I reserve rental equipment in advance?
No. Board rentals are assigned on site only and availability is not guaranteed. Wetsuits, gloves, booties, and balaclavas are available at the Surf Center.
